Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 4 TBS butter
  • 1 cup milk

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  1. Mix together flour, salt, and baking powder.
  2. Cut butter into small chunks then add to the flour mixture and cut into flour until you see pea like chunks. You can use a fork or pastry cutter for this process
  3. Once the butter is cut in, you can then add your milk. Stir until a dough forms, kneading. This dough will be a little sticky and that it okay.
  4. Sprinkle flour onto your counter stops, take the newly formed dough and begin to make into about 1/2 to 1 inch thickness shape. Most of the time mine is a rectangle. Once you get your desired thickness you can take your biscuit cutter or cup and begin cutting your biscuits.
  5. Cut as many biscuits as you can then you will have to rework your dough and begin again with the desired thickness.
  6. Add biscuits to a greased baking sheets. To help with rising, make sure the sides are touching. Then put into a preheated oven and bake until golden brown. Usually 15 minutes. Depending on ovens then may that longer or be faster.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy with almost any meal!!
